Michael J. McEvoy

Co-Founder, Nechtain, LLC

Michael J. McEvoy is a co-founder of Nechtain, LLC and for almost two decades has consulted with, and performed market analyses on behalf of, leading global financial services companies.

Prior to founding Nechtain in early 2002, Mike spent six years at TowerGroup, where he managed and conducted research across the banking, insurance and securities market segments. Serving at the level of Managing Director, Mike was a member of TowerGroup's Senior Management Committee and played a significant role in transitioning the company into one of the financial services industry's leading research and advisory organizations. During this period, he founded and built TowerGroup's well-known Benchmarking practice (now known as "Financial Services Strategies and IT Investments"), reaching more than 150 company clients, worldwide.

Previously, Mike served as Chief Economist at the French Trade Commission in Washington, DC and held senior management positions at several economics consulting firms in Washington, DC and London. While in London, he co-authored a major study, "Life Insurance in the 21st Century", for Swiss Re and regularly published analytical pieces in Marketing Week magazine. Having spent many years working and living in different parts of Europe and the United States, Mike is able to bring a real global perspective to his work.

Mike has authored many research reports over the years, analyzing all aspects of financial services business and technology trends. In addition, he has written by-line articles for publications such as Financial Times' The Banker, American Banker, AsianBanker, Banking Today (Hong Kong), Trading Technology Week and Marketing Week (UK). He has also been quoted extensively in industry journals such as American Banker, Bank Technology News, and Financial Service OnLine Magazine. He has spoken at numerous industry conferences on a wide variety of topics and has managed consulting engagements with many leading financial institutions.

In addition to an MBA degree from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, Mike holds a Master's degree in economics and an undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics.
